SNAP, EarnBenefits Screening Helps Struggling Residents
SOUTHBURY â During tough economic times, many people in Connecticut are having difficulty putting enough food on the table. Many people have a neighbor, friend, or relative who is out of work, uninsured, and struggling to make ends meet.
To help them, a free screening for SNAP, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly food stamps) and other benefits will take place Monday, June 28, from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Jewish Federation, 444 Main Street North.
The 30-minute screening is for adults of all ages and reservations are required. Nera Clemente of the Connecticut Association for Human Services (CAHS) will also use the EarnBenefits program to pre-screen clients for up to 12 work support/basic needs programs.Â
To RSVP, call Debby Horowitz, Brownstein Jewish Family Service director, at 203-267-3177 ext. 105.
