Weddings, engagements, and other celebrations are news you want to share. Help us to help you share that news in a timely manner. Engagements should be announced once a wedding date has been determined.

Wedding announcements must be returned to The Bee within six months of the wedding date. Please note you do not have to submit a photograph by a professional photographer for your wedding announcement. The photo can be taken by a family member or friend; it just needs to be to your liking. 

Original or digital color or black and white photographs are acceptable for either announcement. Email digital photos (and announcements, if you wish) to Shannon@thebee.com.

Be sure to include a daytime phone number and/or email address so that we can reach you for clarification if necessary on either announcement. Call Associate Editor Shannon Hicks, at 203-426-3141, for additional clarification if needed.

Birth announcements can include the newborn’s weight and length, siblings’ names and ages and grandparents’ names and place of residence. The Bee does not print photos with birth announcements.

Announcements are printed in The Newtown Bee free of charge to residents of Newtown and their immediate relatives and for former residents.
