The Newtown school district has released the Spring 2019 Visual and Performing Arts Department Exhibit and Performance Calendar.

Newtown Congregational Church will host a sew-a-thon to support Dress A Girl Around the World on Saturday, April 27, from 10 am until 3 pm. The event will be presented by Liz Skarzynski, coordinator of the Monroe Dress A Girl Around the World group.

The fourth annual National Poetry Month event will return to Newtown Meeting House on Sunday, April 7, at 2 pm. This year's readers include a choral society director, restaurateurs, an emergency communications director, students and teachers, a brew master and the manager of one of Newtown's two remaining full-service gas stations, among other special guests.

On Wednesday, April 10, at 7:30 pm, The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown will host Robert Lenz painting a still life in oil.

Women’s fashion has represented a larger context with its changing styles throughout history. Newtown Historical Society will walk down the runway with those styles and their larger environment in a program in conjunction with C.H. Booth Library on Monday, April 8.

The next meeting of The Genealogy Club of Newtown is scheduled for Wednesday, April 10. This month’s speaker will be Paul Hadzima, who will present “Researching New Jersey Ancestors.”
