The Board of Education voted after an executive session at a special meeting on Wednesday, July 20, to appoint Daniel Cruson, Jr, to its vacant seat.

Board member Kathy Hamilton's resignation was announced on June 21.

Board of Education Chair Keith Alexander said on Thursday, July 21, three candidates offered their time to the board. Mr Alexander said it was a "good group to choose from."

He added, "The board is looking forward to moving forward and coming together on all the [work] we have."

According to Town Charter, the Republican vacancy had to be filled by a Republican candidate.
