Russell Named CPCU President

NEW HAVEN — Timothy Russell of Sandy Hook recently was installed as the 2005-2006 president of the Southern Connecticut Chapter of the CPCU Society (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters).

Mr Russell, senior member of The Russell Agency, LLC, an independent insurance agency in Southport, previously served as the chapter’s vice president. In addition to the CPCU Society, Mr Russell also serves as the technical chairman of the Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut Board of Directors.

Four other newly elected officers were also installed during a special ceremony on September 29 vice president, Ruth Abate CPCU of  HUB International Northeast, Westport, vice president; Seth Stone CPCU of Chubb Insurance Group, New Haven, secretary; and Richard Fenton CPCU of AMICA Mutual Insurance Company, Brookfield, treasurer

The CPCU Society, with more than 26,000 members and 153 chapters, is an organization of professionals in the property and casualty insurance industry. Members of the Southern Connecticut Chapter are involved in a number of charitable, educational, and volunteer events throughout the year, including The National Leadership Institute to be held January 26 in Bridgeport.
