Rotary Inducts New Member

Alan Clavette, the president of Rotary Club of Newtown, recently presided over the induction of the club’s newest member.

Costas “Gus” Thanasoulis is president of Senior Helpers, which provides nonmedical in-home care for senior citizens in Newtown. Senior Helpers services include caring companionship and conversation, bathing and dressing, walking assistance, transferring, light housekeeping, errands and transportation, laundry, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, fall prevention, ironing, changing linens and bed making, medication reminders, play games/cards, and organizing closets and pantries, among other offerings. Mr Thanasoulis’ membership was sponsored by Rotary Club Treasurer Joe Tarshis.

Newtown Rotary Club members are men and women in community business and professions. Their efforts and belief in the concept of “Service Above Self” provide support for many organizations and individuals to have a better life.
