Ronald R. Russell, 70, of Sandy Hook, beloved husband of Deborah L. (Switser) Russell, died March 29. Born in Trenton, N.J., he was raised in Milford, spending many years there before moving to Sandy Hook.

Mr Russell proudly served as a sergeant in the US Marines during the Vietnam War.

He worked for more than 40 years, first at SNET, and later, as a plant analyst at AT&T.

Mr Russell loved camping, bike riding, kayaking, gardening, and photography, but most of all, he was a man who loved spending time with his family.

He is the beloved father of David, and his wife Doreen, of Philadelphia, Rebecca, and her husband William, of New Bedford, Mass., Michael, and partner Courtney, of Newtown, and Andrew of Sandy Hook. Four siblings and their spouses, Pat and Ed Sullivan of West Haven, Priscilla and Edward Hartel of Orange, Kathleen and William Bloxsom of Milford, and Jack and Terry Russell of Milford; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews survive Mr Russell, as well.

Calling hours will take place Thursday, April 2, from 3 to 5 pm, followed by a brief memorial with US Marine military honors, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
