Roger Alan Lockwood, 74, of Summerfield, Fla., died August 10, with his family by his side. He was born in Greenwich on November 10, 1942, son of the late Eleanor (Fox) and Floyd R. Lockwood.

His three children, Karen Lockwood of Newtown, Gigi Barnes and her husband Michael of New Milford, and Karl Lockwood of Danbury; his sister, Darlene Giannattasio of Southbury; his brother Bruce Lockwood and his wife Denise of Southbury; and sister-in-law, Connie Lockwood, survive him.

His brother Floyd E. Lockwood predeceased him.

Mr Lockwood graduated from Greenwich High School, Class of 1961, and went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Mr Lockwood married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Deierlein. The Lockwoods were married for 52 years until Elizabeth's passing in April of this year. Mr Lockwood was a police officer for the City of Norwalk until his retirement in 1992.

Mr Lockwood was a great cook and known for his delicious potato salad. He had a green thumb, loved flowers, and could make anything grow. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Friends are asked to meet directly at St Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury, on Friday, August 25, at 10 am, for a memorial mass.
