Expect Road Closures For CT United Ride

The CT United Ride, the largest motorcycle ride in Connecticut, will roll through Newtown Sunday, September 11. Thousands of motorcyclists paying tribute to the 15th anniversary of 9/11 will leave Norwalk Sunday morning, traveling to Newtown via Bethel on Route 302.The Newtown Bee, "that it will stretch from the Monroe line all the way to the Bethel line. According to Newtown Police Lieutenant Christopher Vanghele, riders are expected to enter Newtown at approximately 12:30 pm. Roads leading to Route 302 eastbound will close as the procession of motorcycles passes through. Police expect Route 302 East and 25 South (South Main Street) to be closed from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Motorcyclists will turn south on Route 25 at the Route 302 intersection, and continue into Monroe, with a final destination of Seaside Park in Bridgeport.
