PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Since 1937, the RISD Museum’s Porcelain Gallery has been home to an outstanding group of Eighteenth Century figural ceramics donated to the museum by Lucy Truman Aldrich. Now, a selection from the museum’s collection of Eighteenth and Nineteenth Century British watercolors will be on view alongside the ceramics. The RISD Museum has one of the finest collections of British landscape watercolors in this country, due to the remarkable generosity of an anonymous donor.

Comprising more than 900 sheets, the collection includes nearly all of the major practitioners. Beginning January 28, the walls of the Porcelain Gallery will exhibit selections from the collection on a rotating basis. The exhibit, Drawings in the Porcelain Gallery,” will continue through March, the exact date to be announced.

The museum is at 224 Benefit Street. For information www.risdmuseum.com or 401-454-6500.
