The Resiliency Center of Newtown (RCN) will host its 3rd Annual Gala on Friday, April 1. The event will run from 6 to 11 pm at The Waterview, 215 Roosevelt Drive in Monroe.resiliencycenterofnewtown.org. Checks can be mailed to The Resiliency Center of Newtown 153 South Main Street, Newtown CT 06470.

RCN was founded to promote long term healing for those impacted by the events of 12/14. Its mission is to provide free and confidential trauma informed assistance and referral services to the greater Newtown community. All of RCN's creative arts therapies, adult and children workshops and programs, and summer camps are offered at no cost to the affected community.

It is through fundraising efforts that RCN is able to provide effective programming.

The theme for the 2016 gala is "Strength In Community." Tickets are on sale now, are $150 each, and cover the full evening including cocktails, dinner, live music by an 11-piece orchestra, silent auction, and open bar.

Auction items already include original art; Coleman camping items including a large tent, sleeping bags and cookware; a Coach bag, a one-year membership to the exclusive Hermitage Club, a trip to Las Vegas, fine art, spa treatments, and a river cruise donated by Tauck.

A raffle during the fundraiser will give one lucky winner a two year lease for a fully leaded 2016 Buick Encore, donated by Ingersoll Auto of Danbury.

Tickets can be purchased online at

Founded in the aftermath of 12/14, The Resiliency Center of Newtown has a full day of special offerings, including crisis counseling, planned for the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook School shootings. Residents can take advantage of the programs free of charge.
