To the Editor:

I would like to thank Verdi Construction, and Curtis Verdi in particular, for innumerable contributions to my Eagle Scout project, which is a sand box behind the St Rose of Lima preschool. Mr Verdi not only purchased and donated all of the materials required, but he also gave generously of his construction expertise before and during the project. Mr Verdi allowed us to use his excavation equipment and provided operators for the equipment. For that I would like to thank Dan Doherty and his son, Patrick, for operating the excavator and driving the tri-axle dump truck during my project, and Mr Bill Watts from Troop 370 for helping to refinish the surrounding area. Thanks to all the members and leaders of my Troop 270, who helped as well.

Verdi Construction provided more materials when we ran short and arranged for extra materials to get picked up on the spot. Mr Verdi even went a step further and provided all of the volunteer workers with T-shirts, which united the work force during the project. Not only did I have a wonderful time working with Mr Verdi, but he also taught me so many things about the construction procedure. The Town of Newtown is great because of people like Curtis Verdi, who are willing to volunteer their time and talent to help the youth of this community. Thank you to Mr Verdi, Verdi Construction, and all the volunteers who helped on this project.
