Plan Ahead With

An Emergency Kit

Preparing an emergency kit for your wedding day is a good idea. This would be a small bag or box that would contain an assortment of items anyone in the bridal party might need on your wedding day.

Having something like this on hand will make a potential catastrophe (like a fallen hem or run in your stockings) much more manageable.

So, what to keep on hand? Pack up the following:

*Aspirin, allergy medicine and eye drops

*Bandages

*Safety pins, needle and thread

*A pen

*Double-stick tape

*Glue, scissors (both small size)

*A small mirror

*Hair spray

*Bobby pins/barrettes, comb and/or brush

*Make-up, baby powder

*Toothbrush & toothpaste

*Kleenex

*Tampons and/or sanitary napkins

*Nail file & polish

*Extra stockings

*Change for a pay phone, and a few dollars

*Bottled water

*Copy of the vows, and any special readings

Don't wait until the morning of your wedding to pack everything. Putting together your emergency kit will take only a few minutes, but do it a few days in advance to alleviate the pressure that is bound to arrive the morning of your big day.

Also, if you are getting dressed at the wedding site, it would be a good idea to make a list of all the accessories that go with your outfit — undergarments, headpiece, shoes, purse, jewelry, etc. Keep the list with your emergency kit, but not packed within it. Check for everything before you leave the house, and again at the wedding location.
