Online Programs Offered By St Vincent’s College

BRIDGEPORT — Flexible educational opportunities and new careers are only a click away through St. Vincent’s College’s new distance learning program, according to John K. Fisher, EdD, president of St Vincent’s College.

“It is our goal to expand educational options outside the walls of the college’s Bridgeport location and to make allied health care careers available to a wider audience,” said Dr Fisher.

Beginning in this fall, St Vincent’s College will launch its distance education program by offering two online certificate programs, Health Promotion and Health Care Management. According to Dr Anita K. McCain, dean of academic services, each program provides 15 college credits and a certificate within the field.

“We’ve had a great demand for online learning and we’re pleased to be able to launch this new sequence,” said Dr McCain. “Online programs enable a learner to take courses from their home or office. Students whose busy lifestyle and time commitments have prevented them from traditional classroom learning now have the option of completing a health care career at the certificate level in the comfort of their own home.” Students will be afforded 24/7 help desk support while enrolled in their online course or program.

Dr McCain said that the college is also offering two three-credit courses this fall, sociology and chemistry. To register or to receive more information about online education, contact St Vincent’s College at online@stvincentscollege.edu.
