Occupation: I’m the executive assistant in the office of the first selectman. I’ve been here since 2007.

Family: My husband, Dave, and I have two boys. Nicholas is in the seventh grade at Newtown Middle School, and Braden is a fourth grader at Hawley.

Pets: We have a miniature Schnauzer named Heidi. She is 5½ years old.

How long have you lived in Newtown? We’ve been here since 1972. My husband grew up down the street from where we live now.

What do you like to do in your free time? The boys are in sports, so we spend a lot of time on the fields. One is in baseball now, and one does baseball in the fall. They both play basketball. We go camping, and in the summer we go out on our boat. We like Lake Lillinonah. I like going to the movies at Edmond Town Hall, too.

What have you read lately? I spent the winter reading the Twilight saga with my son.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We go oceanfront camping on Fire Island, off of Long Island, every summer with about five other families. It’s beautiful there. We’ve been doing that each summer since 1999. It’s a lot of fun.

What is the best thing about Newtown? For me, it’s probably my family. My husband and I both have family in town. It’s nice to have them around.

Do you have a hero? I would say my husband. He installs security systems and home systems and he works so hard so that we can stay here. And he does a lot with the boys with baseball. He doesn’t kick back and relax too often. He’s busy.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Treat others the way you would like to be treated. It’s pretty simple, but it seems sometimes people don’t get it.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Probably chocolate. I like a Hershey’s milk chocolate bar. I try to keep it to a minimum, though.
