Occupation: I’m a Starbucks barista, in Newtown. I graduated from Keene State in New Hampshire in 2008, with a degree in history education.

Family: My mom, Adell Mastro, lives here in town and I have a brother, Thomas, who graduated from Newtown High School this month.

Pets: Sadly, I have none. So I live vicariously through my boyfriend’s dog, Jenny, a mini-dachshund.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I was born in Bridgeport, but we moved to Newtown 22 years ago, when I was just a year old.

What do you like to do in your free time? I bake, I cook, and I do about every craft imaginable. I like to read and to take walks with my boyfriend and Jenny. And I like to hang out with my mom and garden. I also like theater work and photography.

Do you have a favorite author? I just finished reading Denis Leary’s book, Why We Suck, and I loved it, but my favorite author is probably T.A. Barron, who wrote a lot of Merlin books that I read when I was growing up. And I adore C.S. Lewis.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? My friends and I are planning to do the California Pacific Highway next spring, and I’m looking forward to that. My dream spot, though, would be to visit Australia.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I love the Main Street where you can walk down the sidewalks. I like to drive around town and take pictures of all the beautiful places and homes. I love watching the seasons change here, and all of the community events like the Tree Lighting in Ram Pasture, and all of the musical events in town and at Edmond Town Hall.

If you could travel to the past or future, which would you choose? I’m torn. It would be tough to decide. I would love to travel to the future and see what happens in theater. But I would love to travel to the 1920s and see the cars of that era and the development of the country.

Do you have a personal philosophy? I try to do one random act of kindness each day. Also, I try to remember, “Everything will be okay. Just breathe.”

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Chocolate! I am really obsessed with Giardella’s Twilight Delight. It’s a really dark cocoa chocolate. Right now, it’s hiding in my freezer so I’m not as tempted to go and get it.
