Occupation: I’m a senior teller at the Savings Bank of Danbury, right here in Newtown, next to Hometown Wine and Spirits on Church Hill Road.

Family: I have three children. Kristen graduated from Iona College and works in White Plains; Robert is a junior at UConn, majoring in chemical engineering; and Samantha is a senior at NHS and will be going off to college in the fall. The rest of my family is in Long Island.

Pets: We have one cat named Shadow, who is gray and white. He’s about 8 years old. He is the first pet I’ve ever had.

How long have you lived in  Newtown? I’ve been here since 1985, and am originally from Long Island.

What do you like to do in your free time? I like to take walks and bicycle ride. I read occasionally.

Do you have a favorite bike trail? Right now, I like Wolfe Park in Monroe. I love walking around the pond there and I bike there, too.

What have you read recently? The last book I read was The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It talks about how your thoughts have frequency, and you can attract things to yourself, the good or the bad. It was very interesting.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? The most fun I’ve had was at Disney World in Florida, but I’ve enjoyed everywhere that I’ve gone.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I like the Christmas tree lighting. I think I’ve been to every one since we moved here, except for one. I love the luminaria. They give such a warm glow to the event. My kids come with me and we sing along, no matter how old they get.

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in Newtown? A lot of houses have gone up, and a lot of forests have gone away. That’s the biggest change I’ve noticed. It makes me sad.

If you could do anything you’ve never done, what would you do? I’d like to travel all over, and not worry about anything. I’d visit Europe and some other places I haven’t been. I want to know what it’s like in other places and experience the different cultures and find out what they value.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Believe. With God, all things are possible.

Do you have a guilty pleasure? I like to relax in front of my fireplace with the snow coming down outside during the winter.
