Occupation: I work for my father. We do roofing and install gutters in lower Fairfield County. We also have a company, American Roll-Off, that is a dumpster container delivery service in the Newtown area. I attend WestConn, too, where I’ll probably major in business management. I graduated from Newtown High School in 2003.

Family: My father, Charles, my mother, Carolee, and my sister, Melissa, who is a senior at Newtown High School.

Pets: We have a Jack Russell terrier, Jackie, and a mutt from the pound, Wiggles. We have three cats. One is Spreewell, one is Camby, and one is Muffy. I also have an iguana, Suzuki. I had another iguana, but it disappeared this summer. Then someone called me and said they had found it up a tree. When I got it down, I realized it wasn’t my iguana. I couldn’t leave it there, so I took it home. Nobody claimed it. My old iguana just disappeared.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I’ve lived here 20 years, pretty much my whole life.

What do you like to do in your free time? I’m a volunteer firefighter with Hook and Ladder. I’ve been with them three years. I’m coaching youth basketball, the girls’ fifth and sixth grade this year. I just love basketball. I like coaching. It’s fun teaching the younger kids new skills.

Do you have a favorite movie or favorite actors? My favorite movies are Old School and Jaws. My favorite actor, I’d have to say, is Vince Vaughn. For actresses, Jennifer Aniston. I liked her in Along Came Polly and Friends.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? We usually go down to Wildwood, N.J., on the shore each year. It’s a family vacation. You can have it quiet, but there’s always something to do, too. So you have the best of both worlds. But my dream is to go cross-country and see everything.

What is the best thing about Newtown? Probably the atmosphere of Newtown. It’s a quaint, quiet town. I like the country setting. There’s still so much land in Newtown, but it’s probably just a matter of time before it’s sold and built up.

What person from history would you most like to meet? I’d probably want to meet General Ulysses Grant. In school, learning about the Civil War, he was so interesting. It would be good to go back and talk to him about his thoughts on that war.

Do you have a personal philosophy? If you work hard enough, nothing is impossible to get. You can’t give up.

Where would you like to be in 20 years? I see myself still in Connecticut, maybe Newtown, raising a family. Hopefully, able to do what I want to. I’d like to be running a business then and I still want to have “toys” and go out and play basketball and stay active. Just enjoy life.
