Family: My wife, Elise, my son Troy, who is 9 years old, and my son Robert, who is 13 years old. My wife and I have been married for 14 years and weâve been together 16½ years. Sheâs my best friend in the world.
Pets: We have Freddy, a miniature Schnauzer. He was 7years old this October.
How long have you been in Newtown? We have lived here 13½ years. We moved here in 1993 from Stamford. I love it here and wouldnât change it for the world.
What do you like to do in your free time? I coach in my free time. I coach fourth grade football, last year I coached seventh grade basketball, and Iâm the coach for 9-year-old basketball. I like to spend as much time as I can with my kids, or Iâm playing baseball or basketball in our yard with the neighborhood kids. Otherwise, Iâm probably at Costco.
Do you have a favorite sports team? Itâs the Dallas Cowboys. I have always been a Cowboys fan since I was 4 years old. Iâm the only one who is a Cowboy fan of seven sisters and one other brother. For baseball, itâs the New York Mets, and the New York Knicks for basketball.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? We go to Hampton Beach in New Hampshire every summer for three or four days. The kids love the waves and itâs beautiful. My wife has been going there since she was a child. Itâs nice that itâs only three or four hours away.
If you could spend a day with anyone, who would that be? My wife and kids. I would love to have a whole day off to spend with them, or a whole weekend with them, no telephones or anything.
What is the best thing about Newtown? The schools, the sports, and the kids. My kids are well educated and theyâve had good teachers. The sports are great in this town. The kids are great; they keep me young and happy.
Do you have a personal philosophy? Family is the most important thing. You have to love your family. Everything else is minor. Life is too short. I live each day as though it was my last. I tell my wife and kids every day that I love them.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future? I would go to the past, Stamford, 1984 or 1985. I would want my kids and wife to meet my father. He died when he was only 55 in 1987. Thatâs where I would go.
