Family: My husband, Kevin, my daughters Lucy, who is 17 and Charlotte, 15. Daisy is 9. And my son, Peter, who is 13.
Pets: We have Kobe and Mabel. Kobe is a bichon frise dog, 5 years old. Mabel, who was a stray cat, is 7 or 8 years old.
How long have you been in Newtown? We have lived in Newtown for seven and a half years.
What do you like to do in your free time? I just love to do everything. I spend it with my family. I love to cook, I love to go to the theater and movies, I love to go for walks. I love to read â I love free time!
Do you have a favorite place to visit? I love to paddle our canoe on Taunton Lake. Itâs so peaceful there. You feel like itâs in the middle of nowhere. We also go to Vermont to go skiing. And we love to go to the beach. We go to Jones Beach on Long Island. Itâs only an hour and a half and itâs so perfect. My absolutely favorite destination is New York City, though.
Do you have a favorite book or movie? My favorite book is Ernest Hemingwayâs A Movable Feast. I just finished reading The Kite Runner. For a contemporary novel, I havenât read anything else Iâve liked so much since The Secret Life of Bees. For movies, I would have to say, Itâs A Wonderful Life. My favorite play is Thornton Wilderâs Our Town. I wish they would do it at the high school. I love straight dramas.
What is the best thing about Newtown? I love a lot of things about Newtown. The schools offer such a spectrum of activities. Every kid just seems to fit in. Thatâs the thing, that itâs so great for the kids.
Do you keep anything interesting in your purse? Always, my lipstick. Other than that, I donât think so. Iâm lucky if I remember my purse.
Do you have a personal philosophy? Live in the moment. Itâs one I really have to work on myself.
What is the most important lesson you have ever learned? I think that the most important lesson I have learned is just to do everything the best you can; every interaction, everything.
