NSA Anniversary Ball Will Feature

Live Music, Silent Auction

BROOKFIELD — Newtown Scholarship Association (NSA) will host its 66th Anniversary Ball on Saturday February 7. The gala will begin at 7 pm, and will be held at the Candlewood Inn, on Candlewood Lake Road. Tickets are $100 per person.

The event, a major fundraiser for NSA, will include an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, a performance by NHS musicians, a sit-down dinner (including wine), a silent auction featuring many fabulous items, and dancing to the great sounds of Third Shift.

Highlights of the silent auction will include getaways to Sanibel, Fla., and New Hampshire; a garden or landscape design, with how-to manual; interior design consultations; 16 hours of painting; one-hour private tennis lessons by teaching pros at Beaver Brook Racquet Club and Trumbull Tennis Club; catered dinners and cocktail parties; a tax return valued between $300 and $600; tickets to UConn women’s basketball; oil changes; flower arrangements; fishing rod and fly fishing lessons; advertising space in and subscriptions to The Newtown Bee; an airplane ride; gift certificates, and much more.

Seating is limited so early reservations are being suggested today. Dress is “casual elegant.”

All profits benefit the Newtown Scholarship Association, which provides financial aid toward the college education of high school graduates who reside in Newtown. Donations to NSA can be sent to PO Box 302, Newtown CT 06470.
