Nicole Cheri (McGrath) McDonald, 25, of Seymour, died unexpectedly July 29, as the result of a car accident. She was the wife of Brian McDonald. She was born in Denver, Colo., March 25, 1988, daughter of Cheryl (Feeney) and Jeffery McGrath. 

She attended Newtown schools, graduating in 2006.

Ms McDonald was the loving and enthusiastic mother to her daughter Kiely, age 8. Her passion and goal in life was to be sure her daughter was happy and loved. She enjoyed creating a fun and nurturing environment not only for Kiely, but her neighborhood friends as well. As a family they enjoyed boating on Lake Zoar where Ms McDonald grew up, taking hikes down the river walk near their home, and Friday movie nights.

In addition to her husband, daughter, and parents, her brothers Jeffrey “J.D.” and Justin McGrath; her maternal grandparents, Geraldine and Raymond Feeney; paternal grandparents, Barbara Arnold, and her husband Paul, and George Eich, and his wife Marie; her husband’s parents, Patricia and Tim McDonald; and his sister Kerry and brother Michael survive her. She also leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and very special friends.

Calling hours will take place Friday, August 2, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, Saturday, August 3, at 10:30 am.
