NHS Winter Percussion Earns Two First Place Scores; 'Home Show' Saturday

The Newtown High School Winter Percussion competed in two competitions on Saturday, March 18. The day started at a MAC Competition at Shelton High School and the group placed first, with a score of 84.8. The group's hard work and dedication paid off again later in the day at Westhill High School in Stamford, where the group again came in first place.newtownbandandguard.weebly.cominfo@nhsbandguard.com

.After many hours of practice, the group's show, "Slow Me Down," continues to evolve, with new visual effects. More pictures and video of the group is available online at

This Saturday, March 25, will be the Winter Percussion and Winter Guard "Home Show" at Newtown High School, 12 Berkshire Road. The NHS Winter Percussion Group will be performing at 12:35 pm.

The Winter Extravaganza will include 41 performing percussion and guard groups. Food and drinks will be available for sale. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students, $5 for children, those under 5 years old are free to attend, and $40 per family.
