Newtown Choral Society Holiday Concert, December 1

Newtown Choral Society will present its holiday concert Saturday, December 1, at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Meeting House, 31 Main Street in Newtown.

They will be presenting Hodie (This day!) by Z. Randall Stroope, a prolific and guiding force in choral education and composing. The piece was first presented in 1999.

Also on the program will be “Wassail Song,” “Twelve Days of Christmas” and “Goin’ to Bethlehem,” traditional songs of the season, and John Williams’s Exultate Justi from Stephen Spielberg’s movie, Empire of the Sun.

Tickets are $10, $8 for seniors and children under 12, and will be available at the door.
