Newtown residents will pay more for a transfer station permit beginning with the 2017-18 permit season.newtown-ct.gov/transfer-station.

The next series of permits are valid from July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2018. Renewals will be mailed out in April.

Annual permits will be $100, $95 if purchased online; $90 for senior citizens (residents age 65 and older), $85 if purchased online. Second Car permits - an additional permit for a second vehicle in the same household the initial pass is registered to - are $10 each.

Effective March 21, the following rates have taken effect: Day Pass $20, Month Pass $30, and Construction and Demolition Material $95.

Newtown's transfer station is at 4 Ethan Allen Road. Residents can visit drop off items Tuesdays through Saturdays, 7 am to 3 pm.
