To the Editor:Before the Flood at Edmond Town Hall, complete with speakers and exhibitors, all related in some way to fighting climate change. It was a huge success, bringing in anywhere from 200 to 300 people.

On Sunday, March 5, our group held the first in a series of events to educate the public about climate change. We showed the movie

We want to thank everyone at Edmond Town Hall, especially Sheila Torres; Kathy Quinn, chairperson of Newtown's Sustainable Energy Commission; Mitch Wagener, Environmental Science professor at WestConn; Arlene Miles, who runs Newtown's composting service at the transfer station; those behind the effort to establish the Fairfield Hills Fruit Trail; the high school AP Environmental Science Club, especially Karolyn Baumgartner; and everyone else - and there are so many - who helped make this event so successful.

Stay tuned for our next efforts to come shortly. One of them is already underway. We are organizing a bus to Washington, DC, on April 29 to march against climate change. We are dedicated to fighting this unprecedented threat to our planet and our children. For more information about the bus or the march or to join our group please join us on Facebook at Newtown Forward: Climate Change.
