The Resiliency Center of Newtown will launch a new group next week.

The Mind-Body Medicine Skills Group will offer its participants a powerful, effective combination of research based healing therapies to help them deal with life changes, stress, anxiety, and/or depression. Dr Gina DeSiena, DDS, and Dr Jennifer Phelps, MD, will facilitate the program.

As with all RCN program, there is no charge to participate.

Those attending will learn self-care skills to take control and improve their quality of life.

Mind-Body skills groups are highly experiential and integrate techniques such as autogenic training, meditation, guided imagery, breath work, movement, drawing and other approaches into a supportive group environment. RCN's offering will help enhance each person's immune system and improve energy by learning how to cope with stress, anxiety, negative emotions and burnout.

Sessions will meet weekly, from 10 am until noon, February 7, through March 28. They will meet at RCN, 153 South Main Street (entry is through the lower rear level of the building).

Space is limited to seven participants, and registration is requested by February 6. Call 203-364-9750 or send email to at to register or for additional information.
