Michael A. Marusa, 60, of State College, Penn., previously of Newtown and Fairfield, died peacefully June 25, living life to the fullest. Born in Bridgeport, September 15, 1955, he was the son of the late Margaret M. (Danis) and Michael G. Marusa. He was the cherished husband of Katherine A. (Salisbury) Marusa for 39 years.www.charteroak.edu/foundation/give.cfm. There could be no greater legacy for Mr Marusa than giving another the opportunity to pursue their dreams.www.honanfh.com.

In addition to his beloved wife, his children Laura A. Brennan, and her husband Michael, of Newtown; David J. Marusa of New Cumberland, Penn.; and Michael A. Marusa, and his wife Christie, of State College; his brothers John M. Marusa of West Haven, and Richard A.D. Marusa of Shelton; his grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins survive him. His brother Robert S. Marusa of Fairfield predeceased him.

Mr Marusa's family was the joy of his life. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and man of faith who lived each moment with a smile on his face and a humor that made it all fun. He loved golfing, home brewing, cycling, coaching, and telling jokes to his grandchildren.

Mr Marusa worked a proud career as a co-worker, mentor, and friend in the beverage industry and in health care sales. His love of life, ambition, and dedication to success were exemplified in his nontraditional pursuit of his college degree, which he earned from Charter Oak at the age of 48.

His antics kept us laughing, his love was our greatest blessing, and his embodiment of faith sustained us. He taught us how to live life, and we are all better for having known him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Rose of Lima RC Church, 26 Church Hill Road, Newtown, Thursday, June 30, at 10:30 am. Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Wednesday, June 29, from 4 to 8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made to the Charter Oak State College Foundation, 55 Paul Manafort Drive, New Britain CT 06053 or online at
