Louis Robert "Bob" Segneri of Sandy Hook died unexpectedly April 12, at his home.

He was known for his readiness to help anyone, his jovial laugh, his antique car collection, his love of scotch, and his Italian stubbornness. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and partner; he dedicated his life to the people he loved.

His daughters, Sue Ann Dixon of Monroe and Nancy Paquin and her husband, Bradley Paquin, of Cheshire; his grandchildren, Margaret Dixon, Catherine Dixon, Ethan Paquin, and Nora Paquin; his two siblings, Phillip Segneri of Norwalk and Teresa Buckingham of Trumbull; his loving partner of 17 years, Terri Blekis; and his two faithful dogs survive him. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and by all whose lives he touched in a special way.

Mr Segneri lived his life with passion and enthusiasm.

When not restoring Newtown to its historical charm or gathering with all his lifelong Newtown friends, Mr Segneri would often be found with family and friends tinkering in the garage on one of his many old cars, or sitting in front of it enjoying a beer and the view of Lake Zoar with his dogs.

He enjoyed traveling, especially his trips to the Hershey and Rhinebeck old car shows. In addition to his daughters, Mr Segneri enjoyed spending time with his four grandchildren and his partner.

Friends may call Monday, April 17, at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown from 4 to 8 pm.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 18, at 11:30 am in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 466 Elm Street, Monroe. Interment will follow in Newtown Village Cemetery, 22 Elm Drive, Newtown.

Due to Mr Segneri's love of antique cars, his family asks that anyone who has an antique car, drive it in the funeral procession to bring a smile to him in heaven and to celebrate his life and love of cars.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to: Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka KS 66675-8517.
