On Wednesday, June 21, the Newtown Bridge Club hosted a Longest Day event as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Association. Throughout the event, complimentary food was provided by local restaurateurs and stores.

Special thanks to all our sponsors: Bagel Delight, Dunkin' Donuts, Dere Street Bakery, Sal e Pepe, The Villa, My Place, Tambascio's, McGuire's Ale House, Newtown General Store, Papa Al's, Red Rooster Pub, King's, Figs, Foundry Kitchen & Tavern, Barnwood Grill, Franco's, Ninety-Nine Restaurants, Capri's Pizzeria, Frank Pepe, Portobello, Caraluzzi's, Big Y, Stop & Shop, Costco, and Stew Leonard's. The players also enjoyed wonderful music played by pianist Stan Kishner during lunch and by his SJK Jazz trio during dinner.

The bridge games were enjoyed by 244 players and through their generosity, we were able to raise over $4,400 to support the Alzheimer's Association. Their research helps those suffering from this horrible disease and with further research hopefully prevention and/or a cure will be found.
