Joshua Stern graduated from Cornell Law School, at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. Joshua received a doctor of law (JD) degree, magna cum laude. Joshua was also symposium editor of the Cornell Law Review, and he was an elected to membership of the Order of the Coif, the Law Honor Society. He has accepted a position as an associate in the Washington, D.C., office of the New York law firm Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. Joshua was a 2000 graduate of Newtown High School and a 2004 graduate of Dartmouth College.

Alyssa Scalora, an Elementary Education/History major at Western Connecticut State University and the daughter of Vic Scalora, was awarded a scholarship from Photronics, the company her father works for. The Macricostas Family Scholarship Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, recently awarded a total of $60,000 to 31 deserving college students for the 2008/2009 academic year whose parents are employed by Photronics, Inc. Photronics, a worldwide leader in supplying innovative imaging technology solutions for the global electronics industry, maintains a manufacturing facility in Brookfield. The annual awards were first established in 1997 with an initial endowment of $500,000 by the family of Photronics Chairman and Founder Constantine Macricostas. The foundation’s mission is to provide financial assistance to children of Photronics employees that have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and personal character.
