John Robert "Bob" Smith, Jr, 66, of Harwich Port, Mass., died peacefully September 5, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Georgia (McCrea) Smith.

The Smiths raised their family in Newtown before retiring to Harwich Port. He loved being on Cape Cod, where he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and clamming. After a successful business career, he worked at Cranberry Valley Golf Course in Harwich.

In addition to his wife, his two children, J.R. Smith of Hopedale, Mass., and Allison and her husband Louis Getzelman of Stamford; two loving grandchildren, Brady and Kayla; sister, Cindy Acker; and brother, Scott Smith, survive him.

A Funeral Mass took place on September 8 at Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich. Burial was private.
