Joan Drive

Police report that at about 1:30 pm, on April 13, motorist Pamela Mickewich, 40, of 9 Joan Drive, who was driving a 2008 Honda Accord sedan, backed out of the driveway at that address and collided with an unoccupied 2001 Volkswagen Passat station wagon that as parked along the southbound road shoulder at 14 Joan Drive.

There were no injuries. Police said they issued Mickewich a written warning for unsafe backing.

Minivan Vs Pickup

Motorist David Butz, 35, of 55 Botsford Hill Road, who was driving a commercial 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck eastward near 31 Berkshire Road (Route 34) about 4:54 pm April 13, stopped for traffic conditions, after which the Chevrolet was struck from behind by motorist Rebecca Woodford, 17, of Monroe, who was driving a 1998 Honda Odyssey minivan, police report.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Woodford for following too closely.

Paugussett Road

Police learned at 1:17 pm on April 19 that someone who was driving an unknown vehicle northward on Paugussett Road, near its intersection with Berkshire Road, went off the street’s right shoulder at 4 Paugussett Road and then struck a curbside residential mailbox and its supporting post.

The vehicle then continued traveling northward on Paugussett Road.

Police are investigating and ask anyone with information on the unknown driver in the incident to contact Officer Todd Dingee at 426-5841.

SUV Crash

Motorist Daniel O’Connor, 16, of 8 Old Farm Hill Road was driving a 2001 Toyota Highlander sport-utility vehicle northward near 125 Brushy Hill Road about 9:30 pm on April 16, when the vehicle collided with a utility pole and a stone wall alongside the roadway, police report.

O’Connor was not injured in the collision, police said. The incident is under investigation, according to police.

Chevrolet Hits Honda

Motorist Kirsten Bazuro, 34, of 3 Miya Lane, who was driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey minivan, stopped for traffic at the traffic signal that controls the intersection of Mt Pleasant Road and Hawleyville Road at about 4:52 pm April 14, police said.

Police said that motorist Tiffany Lowe, 28, of 138 Underhill Road, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Malibu sedan, told them that she slowed for traffic, but was briefly distracted, and then collided with the rear end of the Honda.

There were no injuries. Police said they verbally warned Lowe for following too closely.

Reckless Driving

State police said they stopped motorist Michael Clark, 18, of Terryville near Exit 10 of eastbound Interstate 84 about 12:30 am April 16, after they detected him driving 91 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone on the highway.

State police said they arrested Clark on charges of reckless driving and possession of drug paraphernalia. Driving faster than 85 miles per hour constitutes reckless driving under state law.

After posting $500 bail, state police released Clark for a May 4 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

I-84 Collision

State police report a two-vehicle accident about 3:44 pm April 17 on eastbound Interstate 84, near Exit 9.

Motorist Janice Harkness, 51, of Washington, Conn., who was driving a 2007 Honda CRV, was slowing for traffic conditions when the Honda was hit from behind by motorist Linda Dombroski, 45, of Milford, who was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe, state police said.

There were no injuries. Enforcement information was not available.

Assault Charge

At about 12:16 pm on April 20, police were called to Braun Moving, Inc, at 46 Barnabas Road for a report of an assault in progress there.

Police said that an investigation showed that during a verbal confrontation, Philip Braun, 50, of Brookfield pushed a woman. Police said ambulance volunteers treated the woman at the scene.

Police said they arrested Braun on charges of third-degree assault, breach of peace, and interfering with a 911 call.

After processing, police released Braun on $500 bail for a May 5 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Berkshire Collision

About 8:30 am April 21, motorist Stephanie Lourenco, 20, of Shelton was driving a 2002 Honda Civic coupe southward near 270 Berkshire Road, when a deer entered the roadway, resulting in a collision, police report. Lourenco was not injured. Police took no enforcement.

Van Hits Guardrails

Motorist Sean Sellars, 38, of Danbury was driving a 1995 Ford van southward on Hanover Road at about 4:55 pm April 20, and intended to make a right turn in order to continue traveling on Hanover Road where it crosses above the Housatonic Railroad’s rail freight line, but missed making that turn, police said.

Sellars then braked on The Boulevard Extension, but the van slid off the road to the right and collided with some guardrailing, police said.

Sellers was not injured. Police verbally warned Sellars for traveling too fast for conditions.

Blue Colony

Police report a collision in the parking lot of the Blue Colony Diner at 66 Church Hill Road about 5 pm April 21.

The accident involved motorist Ronald Donato, 38, of New Milford, who was driving a 2008 Nissan Frontier pickup truck, and motorist Paraskevi Papadopoulos, 52, of Southbury, who was driving a 2006 Pontiac Vibe hatchback, police said.

There were no injuries. Police took no enforcement.

Rear-Ender

About 5:30 pm April 20, a northbound noncontact vehicle stopped on South Main Street near its intersection with Park Lane in order to yield to an emergency vehicle that was waiting to pull out onto South Main Street, police said.

Northbound motorist Jeong Sook Lee, 35, of Oxford, who was driving a 2006 Kia Sedona, then stopped behind the noncontact vehicle, police said.

Northbound motorist Shane York, 33, of Woodbury, who was driving a 2002 Toyota Echo, then struck the Kia from, behind, police said.

Ambulance volunteers treated Lee at the scene, police said.

Police said that York was traveling an unreasonable distance apart and was driving an unregistered vehicle.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for his arrest, Michael Brennan, 53, of 2-A Fir Tree Lane turned himself in at the police station on the morning of April 21 and was charged with evading responsibility in connection with a March motor vehicle accident, police report.

Police allege that at about 12:05 am on March 7, a 1985 Mercedes-Benz 380 sedan being driven by Brennan was traveling northward on South Main Street when it went off the right road shoulder and collided with a utility pole near Ricky’s Shopping Center.

Police said that witnesses told them that after the crash, the driver got out of the Mercedes and headed southward on South Main Street on foot.

After processing the case, police released Brennan on $500 bail for a May 5 court appearance.
