In addition to William Raveis’s advertising, Rosie DeStories can offer cross marketing through her company, Fairfield Auction, one of New England’s premier fine art and antique auction houses. Real estate listings are advertised on the auction company’s full color brochures, the company’s website and in Fairfield Auction’s print advertising. In 2003 Fairfield Auction was awarded first place for its print advertising by the National Auctioneer’s Association.

Rosie DeStories holds a bachelor of science degree from Santa Clara University and has been an auctioneer since 1985, having graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering. Prior to opening Fairfield Auction in Newtown four years ago, Ms DeStories was an auctioneer and partner in her family’s auction house, Slawinski Auction Co., one of the West Coast’s largest fine art, antique and real estate auctioneers. She has auctioned residential homes, a subdivision, and a multimillion-dollar California coastal property. She has served on various boards including the California Auctioneer’s Association Board of Directors.

Locally, Rosie DeStories and her husband Jack, have raised funds for the Newtown Historical Society, Newtown Chamber of Commerce, BPW, United Way, Ridgefield and Danbury senior centers, St Rose Church, Sandy Hook and Head O’ Meadow elementary schools, Ducks Unlimited, Musicals at Richter, and others.

“Jack and I have a deep commitment to community. We believe that if everyone gives back to the community just a little, great things can be accomplished,” she said.

Rosie DeStories can be reached directly at 482-2857. The William Raveis offices are located at 48 Mill Plain Road, Danbury and the number there is 794-9494.
