How To Reduce Aches And Pains

DANBURY — On Tuesday, April 18, Danbury Hospital will hold a medical town meeting on “The Facts on Backs… How to Minimize Those Aches & Pains.” The free program will be held from 7 to 8:30 pm in the John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium at the hospital.

 The featured speakers will be Glenda Brawley, occupational therapist at the Danbury Hospital Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center; Dr Thomas Nipper, an orthopedic surgeon practicing in Brookfield and former chief of the section of orthopedic surgery at Danbury Hospital; and Christine Talarico, a physical therapist at the Danbury Hospital Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center. They will discuss the common causes of back pain, warning signs of serious back problems, and available treatment options.

The program includes discussion on basic body mechanics and positive posture for daily living. Join us in the auditorium foyer from 6 to 7 pm on April 18 for exercise demonstrations presented by the staff from Danbury Hospital’s Main Street Physical Rehabilitation Center.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. A prize drawings, giveaways, educational materials, and light refreshments also will be made available. Medical town meetings are co-sponsored by the hospital and the Danbury Office of Physician Services, PC.

No reservations are required. Park free in the Blue visitor’s parking lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.
