‘Hellebores To Know And Grow,’ Next Program From Garden Club

The Garden Club of Newtown’s next meeting will feature Melanie Fox and her program “Hellebores to Know and Grow.” The program will be offered on Tuesday, February 28, at 1 pm, in the first floor meeting room of Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

The perennials manager at Oliver Nurseries in Fairfield, Ms Fox describes herself as passionate about plants and an avid fan of hellebores. She hopes to engage everyone at the lecture with her enthusiasm as she discusses the most commonly available hellebores, how to grow them, trends in hellebore breeding and how to use these marvelous plants in the landscape.

With a BA in fine art, Ms Fox studied landscape architecture at Cornell University and has worked in horticulture and design for over twenty years.

The presentation is open to the public; donations from non-members are appreciated.
