ON THE ROAD FOR JUNE 27

One last word about Saturday night at The Towne Crier in Pawling, NY. GABE

DORMAN will be playing an opening set for Martin Simpson. He's set to take the

stage around 9:30 or so, will be performing for at least 30 minutes, and

tickets are $15 each. Need more info? Call the Crier, 914/855-1300.

Newtowners ELECTRICWATER also have a local gig this weekend. The band plays

the opening set for Belly Button at Tuxedo Junction, on Saturday night.

Another reminder, this one for this weekend's CARNIVAL OF ROCK AND ROLL. On

Saturday from noon to 9 pm, the Musical Arts School and Studio (14 Delmar

Drive in Brookfield, just off Federal Road) will present an all-day, outdoor

music festival of local talent. Already confirmed are CONNECTICUT WHITE BREAD,

BIG TOP LOW, DERT, STONY HILL, WITNESS RELOCATION PROGRAM and ROCK ALLEY,

plus, and I quote, the ever-famous "others to be announced."

Tickets for this to-do are $5 each, coolers will be permitted, and there will

be refreshments being sold, of course. There will also be "exotic body

piercings," according to the newsbrief that came in. For more specifics, call

MASS for yourself, 775-1998.

Tuxedo Junction's schedule for July has shows coming up by THE NIELDS (July

10, all ages); NAPALM DEATH (July 14, Evilution and Two By Four opening, all

ages); CREATURE DID (July 17, all ages); CORROSION OF CONFORMITY (July 19,

Machinehead and Drain also playing an all ages set, followed by Paradise Alley

for 21+); BETTER THAN EZRA (July 20, with Ednaswap, all ages); FISH (as in

former lead singer of MARILLION, yes; all ages); and S.O.D. (July 31).

Monday night's concert by THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES at The Webster Theatre

in Hartford is sold out. That's the show that had to be rescheduled from May

19.

Speaking of Monday, Keanu and the boys are back in town. So if you wasted too

much time before trying to get some of the now-unavailable Bosstones tickets,

why not head to New Haven to check out actor Keanu Reeve's band, DOGSTAR. The

band makes its second appearance at Toad's Place Monday night. Opening the

show this time are Silver Jet, Illface and Fuel.

Right on schedule, another concert announcement from the Meadows Music Theatre

in Hartford. If you haven't yet won tickets through the big Radio 104

promotional contest, tickets for 311 will be going on sale Saturday morning

for the rest of us. The tickets are all $21.50 apiece, and there are a limited

number of mosh pit tickets available for this concert. Opener is De La Soul.

The Bruce Museum in Greenwich has a permanent exhibit called "Changes in Our

Land. Permanent "Changes." Would that be considered an oxymoron?

Until next week, I'll be seeing you... on the road.
