To the Editor:rebekahfornewtown.com and see what she believes in and what her plans are for the future of Newtown should she be elected. I know you will be inspired to get in action and vote for her, too.

I am writing this letter in support of Rebekah Harriman-Stites in her run for State Representative of Connecticut's 106th district.

I have known Rebekah for more than a year now, and she has always impressed me as a passionate, intelligent, and thoughtful person who takes her Newtown citizenship extremely seriously. She is always willing to roll up her sleeves and work hard for what she believes in, and she gets things done, which is an attribute we are in dire need of in Newtown these days.

Most importantly, Rebekah has the unique ability to inspire others to follow her lead and get involved in the current political and social issues of our town and our state. I have heard her on numerous occasions give voice to all sides of an issue, methodically thinking it through and coming to her position only after considering every angle.

To me, this is a sign of a true leader.

Considering the divisive times that we live in, this is the quality that we need in a representative to bring our town together and to move us forward.

Rebekah has inspired so many in Newtown to get involved and in action already. I hope the citizens of Newtown will do their homework on this critical vote coming up. Go to Rebekah's website at
