FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (AP) - An attorney for a Florida woman says that she will plead guilty to threatening a man whose 6-year-old son was killed in the December 14, 2012, mass shooting incident at Sandy Hook School in Newtown.

The public defender for 57-year-old Lucy Richards said in court papers filed on May 24 that the case would be resolved by a guilty plea. Richards failed to appear at a March plea hearing and was later arrested at her home.

Under the previous agreement, Richards had been scheduled to plead guilty to a charge of interstate transmission of a threat to injure for threatening Lenny Pozner, the father of Sandy Hook School victim Noah Pozner. The terms of a new plea agreement have not been made public.

Prosecutors said Richards had told them the shooting was a hoax.

Last December, Richards was indicted for threatening Pozner, who lives in southern Florida.

Richards was indicted on four counts of transmitting threats in interstate commerce. If convicted, each count carries a maximum term of five years' imprisonment. Richards was arrested on December 5.

According to the court record in this case, including allegations made at the initial hearing, on or about January 10, 2016, Richards made a series of death threats against Pozner.
