  GREG S. BERRY, 59, DEALER WESTMINSTER VERMONT,

WESTMINSTER, VT. — Gregory Scott Berry died at his home in Westminster in mid-April after suffering a heart attack. He was 59.

Greg became interested in antiques in his late teens, subsequently making trips to New England from his home in Kalamazoo, Mich., to absorb the area’s history, and to acquire small pieces of it. He had the good fortune to posses a keen sense of style and beauty, which served him well his entire career.

After a stint in the real world, he pursued a career in antiques, helping to establish and manage Haymarket Antiques in Michigan, and exhibit in major shows throughout the East Coast. With Greg’s extraordinary talent, Haymarket Antiques was known for exemplary, stylish American folk art.

In time Greg left Haymarket Antiques to pursue his own business, moving to Maryland and then settling in Westminster, Vt. Greg purchased a small early brick school house in Westminster, and continued to deal privately from there while he continued to exhibit in shows. He was always out on the pursuit of the stylish objects he loved, and always willing to share with others his knowledge, experience, sense of style and taste, and most of all his friendship.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Berry; his mother Geraldine Berry; a sister, Emily Labiberle; his constant canine companion, Root, and a devoted close circle of loyal, loving friends, who miss him dearly. A memorial service by those friends was held in Bellows Falls, Vt., April 20, and he was taken home to Michigan thereafter.
