The Merwinsville Hotel

GAYLORDSVILLE — The Merwinsville Hotel will be open for guided tours on Sunday afternoons in July, August and September, from 2 to 4 pm. Tours are free.

The public is invited to visit the only remaining railroad hotel east of the Mississippi. On the National Register of Historic Places, the Merwinsville Hotel, built in 1843, is a unique building saved from destruction by volunteers.

The hotel is at 1 Browne’s Forge Road. Follow Route 7 to Gaylordsville, turn east onto Riverview Road and then follow signs to the hotel. Call 860-350-4443 for additional information.
