MIREILLE MOSLER PRESENTS ‘TEASE’ JUNE 22 IN NYC

NEW YORK CITY — Jill Newhouse and Mireille Mosler Ltd announce “Tease,” an exhibition exploring the subject of sexuality and the nude model in works on paper from Old Masters, on view June 22–July 28.

Artists included in the show display a diversity of sensibilities and approaches that range from personal and intimate to humorous and the absurd.

Many artists — occupied by the already personally charged process of drawing — are often less inhibited in a sketch or work on paper than they would be in another medium. The subject of nudity has historically been a more private endeavor, at times hindered by the availability of nude models.

The drawings in the exhibition, spanning more than five centuries, are by a diverse group of artists, who are all attracted to the subject of nudity or sexuality.

Works are on view by the following artists: Hans Bellmer, Fra Bartolomeo, Pierre Bonnard, Paul Cadmus, Edgar Degas, Auguste Derain, Raoul Dufy, Martin Eder, Gandolfi, George Grosz, Karl Hubbuch, Henry Fantin-Latour, Paul Klee, Aristide Maillol, Henri Matisse, Auguste Rodin, Egon Schiele, Rudolf Schlichter, Edouard Vuillard.
