Seeded eighth in the South-West Conference tournament for the second year a row, Newtown High School's field hockey team was unable to make another memorable run to the pinnacle. The Nighthawks fell 4-2 at top-seeded Pomperaug of Southbury in the SWC quarterfinals, on October 28.

Katherine Trammel scored Newtown's first goal, assisted by Aniko Walsh.

Camryn Findley, set up by Ali Kelleher, off a penalty corner insert by Danielle Samson, scored the second Newtown goal.
