Esther Dudas

Esther Beatrice Dudas, 92, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Michael Joseph Dudas, died peacefully  July 11 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in River Rouge, Mich., the daughter of the late Emma and Julius Foret, she had been a Fairfield resident for the last 58 years.

Her six beloved children and their spouses, Marilyn D. and Tucker Frey of Newtown; David J. and Cathy Dudas of Easton; Gail A. and Tom McGrimley of Madison; Michael J. and Denise Dudas of Madison; Beatrice K. and Jim Bagley of Fairfield; and Dianne J. Dudas of Fairfield; 15 adoring grandchildren, 15 cherished great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews survive her.

In addition to her husband, Michael, their infant son, Paul, and her seven brothers and sisters predeceased her.

Mrs Dudas had been an active parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church since 1959, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered at many church functions. She was very creative and loved crafts of all kinds. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, sewing, rug hooking, caning, and furniture refinishing. Mrs Dudas also loved cooking and baking, but above all else, she delighted in time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Friday, July 14, from 4 to 8 pm, in the Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 15, at 1 pm, meeting directly at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 545 Stratfield Road, Fairfield. Interment will follow in St John's Cemetery, Stratford.
