Edward P. “Ed” Brandon, 98, of Brookfield died peacefully April 26, surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 20, 1915, in Yonkers, N.Y.

His children and their spouses, Rosemary and Richard Passero of Newtown, Ruthanne and James Manna of Danbury, James and Margaret Brandon of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Beth and Tom Becker of Poughquag, N.Y.; and Patricia Brandon and Thomas Brandon, both of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; 13 grandchildren  and 12 great-grandchildren will dearly miss Mr Brandon. He was predeceased by his cherished wife of 58 years, Ruth E. Brandon.

Mr Brandon was a veteran of World War II, serving as a corporal in the US Army.

He was an exceptional upholsterer, an avid golfer, and devout Yankees fan. A jack-of-all-trades, Mr Brandon took great joy in the numerous projects he accomplished for his beloved Ruthie. He could never say enough about how blessed he was to have had such a loving wife and the beautiful family he shared with her. Mr Brandon was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and loved his sons- and daughters-in-law as if they were his own.

He shared so much of his life and knowledge, as he had an extraordinary memory and was sharp as a tack all his life. His great sense of humor and quick-wittedness will live on in the hearts of his friends and family.

The family expresses a special “Thank you” to Brooks Quarry Community for 14-plus years of good neighbors and friendship.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 3, at St Gregory’s Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury, at 11 am.

Contributions in honor of his memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
