Edward J. Kowalski

Edward J. Kowalski, 93, of Shelton, died on April 27 in his home. He was the devoted husband of Jennie (Rzasa) Kowalski.

He is survived by a son, Peter Kowalski, and his wife, Blanche, of Sandy Hook.

He was born in Shelton on July 15, 1906, son of the late Stanley and Antoinette (Kruszynski) Kowalski, and was a life-long Shelton resident. Mr Kowalski retired from Winchester’s in New Haven, and was previously employed at Farrel Corporation and the former BF Goodrich Company. He was a member of the Shelton and Derby Senior Citizen Centers and St Michael Church.

He was also the father of Jerry Kowalski and his wife, Patricia, of Bethlehem, Joseph Kowalski and his wife, Frances, of Bethany, Eugene Kowalski and his wife, Katie of Annandale, Va., and Carol Rhodes and her husband, Jeff, of Shelton, and brother of Stanley Kowalski and Rose Rzasa, both of Shelton, and Agnes Severine of Ansonia. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, George Kowalski, and four sisters, Joanne Kruszynski, Josephine Fedus, Emma Kalinowski, Mary Tataranowicz, and Bertha Paladine.

A  Mass of Christian Burial in St Michael Church was held on April 29. Interment followed in St Michael Cemetery, Derby.

The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to charities of one’s choice through the funeral director.
