The next meeting of the Genealogy Club of Newtown will be Wednesday, March 8, in the meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.

Meetings start at 7 pm, but those planning to attend are invited to arrive a little earlier for light refreshments and conversation with other genealogists.

The guest speaker this month is Philip Hayes, who will present a program on "Digitizing & Managing Your Photo Collection."

The presentation will focus on personal photo collections, the types encountered, how to digitize, them and what to do with the originals. Mr Hayes will also cover many applications to assist in managing a collection.

In addition to monthly meetings September through June, the club maintains the Genealogy Room in the library, with a dedicated computer for genealogy research that is open for use during library hours. On Mondays, from 2 to 4 pm, Harlan Jessup, a professional genealogist and a founding member of Genealogy Club of Newtown, is available to assist visitors with research.

For additional information about the club, or the March 8 program, contact Mr Jessup at 203-270-7887 or Bea Morgan at 203-304-1861.
