Craft Centerâs Summer Workshops Catalog Is Available
BROOKFIELD â Brookfield Craft Centerâs Summer 2003 Course Catalog is a free 32-page booklet listing 100 classes and workshops for adults and teens. Classes start in June and run through the end of August at the nationally acclaimed not-for-profit school on Route 25 in Brookfield.
The Center offers six- and eight-week day and evening classes, a large selection of one- and two-day weekend workshops, plus several weeklong courses all with noted visiting artists from across the nation.
Topics of special note this summer include wooden guitar making, swordsmithing, gas welding, sculptural cement, thread paintings, bent willow furniture plus dozens of other subjects, many unique to the center. Enrollments are limited, with many classes for six to 12 participants, to provide highly individualized attention and one-on-one instruction.
Brookfield Craft Center was founded in 1954 to âpromote and preserve the skills and values of fine craftsmanship.â Today it is one of the countryâs finest non-academic schools for professional craft studies.
