To the Editor:mihalcik13@gmail.com or facebook.com/mattmihalcik.

I'd like to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Matthew Mihalcik, I am running for Legislative Council District 2.

My wife has lived in town for 32 years and when we married I moved here to join her in this wonderful community.

Some of my qualifications include: my employment for Newtown Savings Bank as a branch manager; I am currently appointed to the Economic Development Commission (second term) and CH Booth Library Board of Trustees, Southbury Business Association board member and currently hold the position of vice president. I have been a business counselor for SCORE since fall 2012. I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America

During my time on the EDC and CH Booth board I have learned a lot about municipal policy, procedure, and management. This knowledge is much different than what I have learned in my years in banking. During my volunteer service I have helped create budget documents for two budget cycles for the library, I have interacted with many of the town departments on various projects in my roles, and I have been attending meetings of the board I am interested in running for.

While only those who live in District 2 can vote for me, I encourage everyone to feel free to reach out to me regarding any issues and I will pass long your concerns to my running mates and hopefully soon to be peers:

Thank you for the support and I look forward to working with everyone.

Matt Mihalcik

Candidate for Legislative Council in District 2
