Cooking For Carnivores,

Pakistani Style

Looking for some new recipes to bring friends and family back to the kitchen table after a summer of barbecue? C.H. Booth Library may have some help when it hosts a cooking demonstration of Pakistani food with Kanwal Sakhi on Thursday, October 5, at 6 pm.

The class will feature healthy, fresh and delicious main course meals bursting with flavor and color. Ms Sakhi will be preparing treasured recipes from her homeland including beef tikka masala, chicken pallow, fried salmon, and raita (yogurt with a variety of vegetables).

After the demonstration participants will have opportunity to taste everything.

Ms Sakhi, a Newtown resident, has shared her cooking talents at the library in the past. Participants can look forward to another event full of cooking techniques, information on how and where to shop for the best spices, as well as the best Pakistani food in North America.

There is a $15 fee to cover supplies, and pre-registration is required. The library, at 25 Main Street, can be reached by calling 426-4533.
